Dance Hosts

Luxury cruise lines developed the Dance Host program in order to accompany unescorted women on the dance floor and during other shipboard entertainment activities. Historically, this tradition began because a larger proportion of women to men traveled on the ships and the cruise lines wanted to enhance their enjoyment on the cruise by having hosts available to escort them at social functions, shore excursions and other activities. Women responded very positively to the concept of Dance Hosts. It made them feel welcomed aboard the ships and at the same time it gave the Dance Host an opportunity to travel, meet interesting people and be a part of the cruise staff team.

The cruise line invites anywhere from two to six men aboard to dance, interact and share the activities aboard the ship. Dance Hosts should be mature gentlemen and act as goodwill ambassadors for the cruise line. They should be in good health, have competent dance ability, have excellent social skills, a positive attitude and be charming conversationalists. Good manners are required and hosts must adhere to very strict moral standards (see Official Host Requirements).

Many hosts that currently sail aboard our ships have backgrounds as professionals in the areas of law, business, travel, finance, medicine and education. Our hosts are required to be single, divorced or widowed (no married men, please!). Many hosts are retired or semi-retired and they have the opportunity to sail on several cruises a year. Dance Hosts must have been trained by a professional dance instructor and be capable of doing all the Ballroom and Latin Dances (see Dance Qualifications) A resume should be submitted with your qualifications and your photo along with at least two written recommendations from professional dance instructors.

You will be receiving confirmed cabin space. As a Dance Host onboard you are NOT permitted to ask for any kind of a stateroom change. You will receive a Boarding Pass or Cabin Number approximately 1 week prior to sailing. You must bring the Boarding Pass with you to the Pier and present it at check-in. Also bring your VALID PASSPORT and picture I.D. If applicable, please make your air or ground travel arrangements so that you board the ship between 12:00 Noon and 2:00 PM on day of sailing. Usually, you will find a welcome letter in you cabin stating a time to meet with a cruise staff member to discuss when and where you will be dancing. If no letter is in your cabin leave a note and your cabin number at the information desk for the Cruise Director or Assistant Cruise Director to let them know you are onboard.

If you cancel your voyage or make any other changes in plans, you must notify "To Sea With Z" immediately. If you should cancel your cruise less than 12 weeks prior to sailing for any reason, you will forfeit the entire fee paid. If the cruise line cancels the trip prior to departure, you will receive a full refund for the monies paid to "To Sea With Z."

Join "To Sea With Z" and become a part of a fun-loving team, while socializing aboard a luxurious cruise ship and dancing your way to some of the most exotic destinations around the world.
